Activities

Chess Club

Chess club offers an experience for new players to learn how to play chess or for experienced players to get better by playing with others who are near their chess level. The club is also a great way to make friends over different grade levels. We would really like for the members of the club to be working towards playing in the district tournaments every year.

This club is for any Centennial Student, 3rd-5th grade, who is interested in learning chess or improving at chess. If your student is in K-2nd grade, we ask that they have a working knowledge of chess already.

Drama Club

Drama Club is designed for students interested in learning more about the aspects of theater. This includes learning stage terminology, working on acting skills, set building, and costumes/makeup design. Drama Club is open to all students.

Garden Club

An opportunity for students to learn the important life skill of gardening! During Garden Club, students learn about seeds, plants, soil, bugs, watering, and the many benefits of growing their own food! This is a great Project Based Learning opportunity for your child. We look forward to having your child in this after school program.

LEGO Robotics

As a participant in the Centennial Lego Robotics,  students will be engaged in a curriculum designed by First Lego League to improve the participant’s overall coding ability. Students will also have the opportunity to make and design a lego robot and code their robot to complete missions along with team building activities to learn the First Lego League Core Values.

Sneaker Club

WHAT is Sneaker Club?

Sneaker Club is a running/movement club. We will engage in warm up/cool down exercises and running/jogging/walking laps during our sessions. Participants will be able to track how many laps they run throughout the program. Our purpose is to promote healthy lifestyles and provide a safe space for students to move their bodies alongside their peers and teachers!

WHEN and WHERE will Sneaker Club take place?

Sneaker Club will start up sometime in March. We will meet once per week right after school and will end at 3:55pm. The club will run for six weeks, weather permitting. Sneaker Club will take place in the field north of the playground.

WHO can participate?

All students in First-Fifth grade may sign up for Sneaker Club.

HOW can I participate?

Sometime in March, permission slips will go home. Fill out and sign the permission slip and return it to your teacher or the front office by the return date. Then, join us every week (day to be determined) after school in the north field.

**Wear your Bald Eagle Boogie Walkathon T Shirt and bring a water bottle (and sneakers, of course)! All students must be picked up by 4:00pm at the latest. Please pick up from the field or in the west hug-and-go parking lot.

Student Council

Student council is a student representative organization made of Centennial Students. Officer roles (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasure, and Historian) are made up of 5th grade students. Student representatives are made up of 2nd through 5th grade students. These students serve as a voice of the student body. They help share ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and administrators.
